Blatant Picture Post 2
I just checked and it’s been two weeks since my last post. Yikes! One day is pretty much like the last in babyville so it’s easy to lose track of time. It’s amazing how a week can fly by despite the moments when time seems to stop, specifically the screaming and whining moments.
Over the past 14 days I would occasionally think to myself, “I should go write a post about [insert new/amusing/gross thing Simon’s doing]”, but then I would get busy doing something else and forget what the new/amusing/gross thing was. But I know what the people want and it isn’t some boring update about Simon’s gas troubles (still waking him and us up at night). It’s pictures!
My current favourite things about Simon are his neck and wrist creases. Is it wrong that I have this overwhelming urge to gobble them up? His thighs have so many creases it’s cute overload, so I won’t post any pictures of that yet.
In my last post I described how we were taking Simon for winter walks, but after our last walk we noticed that Simon’s cheek was still pretty red that evening so we decided to forgo the hikes until it gets warmer. We think it might be windburn but it’s still a little discoloured so we’re going to see our doctor today. As you can see, it’s not causing him any discomfort.
I swear to God every picture we take of this kid is on our couch.
People are always commenting on Simon’s faux hawk, but it’s hard to see in most of his pictures so I took one to showcase his cutting edge style. The rest of his head is starting to catch up now so I wanted to make sure I documented it before it disappeared.
Simon’s able to sit up on his own on soft surfaces like the couch (where we live apparently) or my lap. He can last about five seconds on the floor before he starts toppling over, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be sitting indepedently by six months.
Simon gets cranky sitting in his bouncy chair during dinner, so we brought out his highchair so that he can be at our level. He had a great time playing with his toys and knocking them over while we ate, but I’m sure he’ll be bored of it within a few days. If it isn’t new it’s no good as far as Simon’s concerned. Novelty reigns supreme, and that’s why I’m giving him the remote control and the phone to play with now.

Just leave some gobble for me when I visit on Thursday!!! He is the happiest “couch potato-baby ” I’ve ever seen! Love the mohawk. so now we have Hawk1 and Hawk2! love and kisses, Nana.
I love the hands in photo #2 and don’t get me started on photo numbers 3, 6 & 8. If only we all could be so happy.
oh my goodness. that was the best post ever. what a cuteasaurus. i cannot wait to see simon again.
It’s pretty amazing how much he changes in just a couple of weeks. And those creases are pretty durn cute!
My, that high chair looks familiar…And that kid sitting in it is pretty good too.
